Title research: "Me Before You"

The opening sequence to the movie “Me before you” is the background of the main male character. Getting the audience intrigued with his backstory, on how he lost his legs. The titles during the opening credits were the principal cast and a few other cast members. The whole opening sequence focuses on the male character. The camera follows the male throughout a quick morning routine, walking to work, and an unfortunate accident that changes his life. In the beginning of the scene, there was high key lighting to create a happy mood among the audience since the movie just beginning. However, before the scene ends the lighting turns from that bright happiness to a set with rain and lowkey lighting when the accidents about to happen. This gives the audience a sad, worried feeling, which intrigues them to continue and figure out what happens. The film establishes the genre from the outset with the usage of high key lighting and lowkey lighting. The sounds added into the first segment helped capture the attention of the audience with the happy but suspenseful tone it. The mise-en-scene was also established by giving the male character a wealthy feeling. Technology has been used effectively by using over-the-shoulder camera shots to show the emotion on his face. Wide shots were also used for the audience to see what was going around the main focal point of the scene. The set lighting and weathering was a success with the audience cause it showed a dark and gloomy day, when something bad was bound to happen.
